Medical Director, the Institute for Continuing Healthcare Education ("Institute")


The Institute is a leader in the development and execution of independent, accredited, educational initiatives for health-care professionals and their patients. We are seeking a strong leader who is energetic, self-starting, and innovative to serve as Medical Director.

In this role you will serve as an internal and external medical resource, direct and prioritize the activities of the assigned project team, and develop and implement plans to support and increase new business.

The qualified candidate will have superior skills in writing scientific medical materials and validating content. Candidates must have the ability to quickly process and clearly discuss complex scientific materials for all disease states. The Medical Director will be a scientifically oriented person with strong background in pharmacology and have a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.

Resume and portfolio must exhibit evidence of the following:
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Candidates must have an advanced practice RN, MD, PhD, or PharmD
  • 5+ years healthcare sector continuing education and communication
  • Demonstrable medical writing skills
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory framework including accreditation regulations (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE, CDR, and others), FDA regulations pertaining to industry involvement in scientific and educational activities, professional codes of ethics such as AMA and PhRMA
  • Pharmaceutical and biotech industry knowledge including phases of product development and role of education throughout product life cycle
  • Active in industry associations
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of compliance in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and formally present in capabilities meetings

The ideal candidate will have the ability to synthesize clinical and scientific data and will possess a strong sense of initiative. He or she must be able to work effectively with various internal and external educational partners clients to produce highly qualified educational activities on time and within budget. He or she must establish and consistently meet deadlines.

Senior Manager


The Institute for Continuing Healthcare Education ("Institute") is a leader in the development and execution of independent, accredited, educational initiatives for health-care professionals and their patients.

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager of outcomes to join our fast-paced, highly successful accredited CME team.

Job Summary:
The Institute's experienced clinical and outcome analysis team establishes the desired outcome of initiatives prior to the inception of the development of the grant. Methods of biostatistics and Bayesian logic are utilized to help plan for reliable and effective education.

Based on medical intelligence, the Senior Manager of Outcomes assists in the design of educational initiatives that align with the Institute's targeted therapeutic areas using the principles of adult education. The Senior Manager assures content is developed with the appropriate educational design to ensure accurate, robust, and relevant outcome data and works with content team to develop measurable learning objectives and pre- and posttests. He/She analyzes the data from all initiatives and presents the outcomes competently yet comprehensibly.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Advanced degree in biostatistics, science, communications, or other related field

Experience:
Equivalent of 3-5 years experience in educational design, statistics, and analytics in a health-care, medical education organization, scientific, pharmaceutical, or advertising/communications agency or institution

Science background through medical, clinical, laboratory, medical education/communications, or other health-care?related experience a plus.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS)
  • Knowledge of biostatistics and Bayesian logic
  • Knowledge of Moore's updated framework for outcomes evaluation in the continuing professional development of physicians
  • Ability to write comprehensive outcomes analysis and measurements
  • Understanding of health-care communications

We are currently looking for a Vice President, Education and Outcomes professional to join our fast-paced, highly successful accredited CME team.

Job Summary:
Manage the Content Group - The Content Group is responsible for medical intelligence, educational design, needs assessments, faculty management, content development, editorial, scientific verification, and outcome data collection and analysis.

Design educational initiatives that align with the Institute's targeted therapeutic areas, based on medical intelligence. Write needs assessments and work with strategic team to develop grant proposals to support these initiatives.

Manage and maintain a Provider-Grantor relationship as primary education point of contact. Collaborate with assigned program management team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of educational initiative components. Assure content is developed with the appropriate educational design to ensure accurate, robust, and relevant outcome data.

Liaise between grantor and program management; maintain business, and maintain and improve relationships with existing grantors, as well as faculty, associations, for- and not-for-profit organizations, and patient advocacy groups.

Primary leader of content development on projects, working with all internal departments and external resources to ensure the delivery of projects on time, within budget guidelines, within compliance policies and procedures, and within the standards of excellence set forth by the Institute for Continuing Healthcare Education (the Institute).

Ensure continued accreditation of the Institute through development and execution of compliant educational activities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Advanced degree in biostatistics, science, communications, or other related field

Equivalent of 5 to 8 years of adult learning principles and educational design experience in a health-care, medical education organization, scientific, pharmaceutical, or advertising/communications agency or institution

CONTENT TEAM JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the project team to ensure that all Institute projects are delivered on time, as promised, meeting grantor expectations and with maximal profitability for the Institute.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between senior Program Management, internal/external team members, and multiple grantors/accounts (including faculty, associations, for- and non-profit organizations, and patient advocacy groups).
  • Maintain and increase existing program(s) from funding sources/grantors; maintain and improve relationships with existing grantors as well as faculty, associations, for- and non-profit organizations, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Assist team with identifying new business opportunities, new business presentations, comprehensive education plans, and large-scale RFPs.
  • Develop and write grant requests
  • Continually apprise team of potential new business opportunities.
  • Provide on-site faculty management and coordination at meetings.
  • Where appropriate, write/edit/develop copy for project-related communications, and materials such as invitations, newsletters, monographs, audio/video/multimedia scripts, and other written materials.
  • In collaboration with program managers, assist in recruiting all program-related faculty members, including confirmation and follow up.
  • Support program management to coordinate all activities related to assigned projects such as: print materials, meetings, audio/video programs, multimedia, and Web site development.
  • Identify and communicate roadblocks to program/project success (eg, issues affecting deadlines or profit margins).
  • Provide quality assurance and guidance to all internal and external team members
  • Act as the best representative of the Institute to grantors and other external contacts.


DEVELOPMENTAL OBJECTIVES
  • Demonstrate the ability to write comprehensive strategic educational plans to include outcomes analysis and measurements.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage Content Team. Provide quality assurance, direct team members with confidence, recognize and solve project-related obstacles, and forge strong relationships with colleagues and grantors.
  • Manage multiple accounts or grantors.
